This was a beautiful day. We arrived at the visitors centre of the Freycinet NP early at around 10:30. It was very busy. When it  was our turn, we asked if one of the 18 campsites is free. Fully booked. Nothing available till after Easter. She explained other possibilities but none were attractive. While walking away she called us back. A man with a booked site was leaving a day earlier than planned. Our luck! After 13:00 the site would be free.

The mountainous peninsula has small sand beaches around it. One of them is the attractive Wineglass Bay. We first went to Cape Tourville light house and to sleepy bay (short walks) before going to Wineglass Bay carpark. Here we decided to walk to the lookout point on the saddle between 2 of the 4 mountains. The sun was shining and a cool sea-breeze kept you cool during the 2 hrs (return) climb to the lookout with its 400 stairs. From there you have a great view of the bay.

Back down we set up camp at our assigned spot and had a well deserved rest. Later we took a stroll on the beach behind our campsite.
A perfect day.
