It was great meeting all our Kiwi friends at the Holliday Park in Kiama. The evening was spent telling old stories of our time together in Londen (1985-1988). The suitcases were quickly unpacked before settling down for our first of many nights in the “Batvan”.
It is early morning after the 3 night and days before. The rain has stopped and the sun is rising out of the sea. Our fiends are leaving one by one to catch different flights back to New Zealand. Dave and Christine will drive with us for a few days before turning back.
Like in London in The eighties it was non stop activities with sleep and snoozes in between. Till in the wee hours, old stories were told and the world developments were discussed more passionately as the bottom of the wine/whisky bottle was approached. We played tennis and golf while the girls explored the local village and swimming pool was also a welcoming place in this humid and warm weather. The last evening we became a guest member of the local social club and enjoyed a generous delicious meal. Now it is camper packing and preparing for the unknown.
By the way Batvan is a lot larger inside than you think. The front lift up and you have a large double bed and in front left and right a bench/storage to sit on. A large kitchen area and a toilet/shower corner closed off with a foldable screen. Everything you need.
