We arrived late by ferry from Cherbourg, France. The unloading was slow. Rains had arrived so we decided to have a quick look in town before heading north. We found a roadside parking place large enough for Tasman and wandered into town to Trinity college. Along the way we dropped into a Neo-Classic church. All the public buildings are built in this style. Also, Trinity College. We wandered around the campus a bit but could not visit the library and other expositions. You need to pre-booked tickets in advance. All was sold out due to the large influx of American rugby players and their entourage. Apparently, they played against each other here in Dublin. They brought along their own bands and cheerleaders.
The city did not look very interesting especially in the rain. When driving out to our pub campsite some 37 km out of town we joined the slow-moving heavy commuter traffic.
This large pub served restaurant quality meals at a matching price. But staying at the parking lot is free.
