We drove back on the south side of the Breara peninsula and the over the pass and several tunnels to Kenmare. Many houses in this busy touristic town are painted in vivid colors. We visited the modern church where an Organist was playing. Parking the camper was no problem in the wide one-way street. The bicycles were however sticking out.

We started driving the Ring of Kerry. Many stretches of the road are narrow and you have to dive into the bushes to let the tourist buses pass. Jamaliah’s heart rates skips a bit or 2 every time. The weather is still windy and raining so not many photo stops along the way to Portmagee. We booked a tour to the island of Skellig Michael to visit the ruins of a 6th century monastery. This morning we heard that the tour was cancelled due to large swells at the boat landing point. The operator hope we can get on a boat tomorrow……

We filled the day with watching episode 7 and 8 of Star Wars in which Stellig Michael featured as a hidden retreat for the aging Luck Skywalker. We walked across the bridge to Valentia Island and stopped into the local museum filled with tour group doing the Ring of Kerry tour. They will miss out on the Island tour.
