It was just a short ride this morning (49km). We were due for a shower and a dump and refill of all our liquid tanks. Before we stopped at the campsite, we did a walk and cycled in the National Park. The walk was a steep up and down following a river with 2 waterfalls. The forest is old with large oak, birch, pine trees often overgrown with moss. At the bottom is Muckross lake with a large Mansion on its shore. Horse and buggies bring the tourist over the lane from the city like they did in the old days. We did not visit the house but instead cycled around the lake. At one point Jamaliah fell with the bike so we slowly made it back to Tasman and drove to the campsite. Later in the evening Rudy cycled alone into town to O”Cannor pub (Jamaliah decided to stay in the camper. She is still recovering from the fall). The Irish pub is well-known for its daily live music. There was a great atmosphere with people singing along where possible. There was an early act of a singer and guitar. He is a pensioner and plays here once a week. At 21:00 a second act rushed in and set up their instruments and microphones. It was a couple. The lady had a very powerful voice and when singing together they are in good harmony. Later an older American saxophonist joined in. A memorable evening.

Jamaliah had a good night’s sleep. Her knee is still painful but good enough to walk around the large 1843 mansion Muckross House nearby. We did drive to it instead of walking.
