After grocery shopping at Tesco, we drove north and crossed the wide Shannon River by ferry. On the way to our destination, Cliff of Moher we saw a lot of police and traffic regulators. The Irish Open Golf tournament is ongoing in Doonberg nearby and US President Trump is visiting his golf course.
We set up camp on the large parking lot at the cliffs. Tomorrow morning, we are booked for the Cliff of Moher Experience in the museum which is built underground so it does not alter the landscape. Around 18:00 we set out for a walk on top of the cliffs to see the sunset. Pity that the sun was sinking in the distance ocean fog. The walk did provide great views of the steep cliffs. During the evening we had heavy rain. Good that we had already done the cliff walk because rain is also expected tomorrow. The next morning, we visited the Cliff of Moher visitor center. A nice display of local geology and development of tourism at the site. We walked up the cliffs path till the point where it was closed for safety reasons. One of the pictures will show how many tourists buses had already arrived.
