It took a while before we left Brisbane (nail manicure, lunch, shopping, diesel tanking, goodbye’s).
We only drove some 88 km to this recommended NP. This was a blessing in disguise. It is beautiful here. You drive up from the coast over a narrow winding road (38km) to over 900 m and you are then in a subtropical rain forest with veins hanging from large trees. There is a nice canopy walk which had a ladder all the way to the top of a tree with great views of the distant mountains . I hope the sky is clear tomorrow morning so we can see it better. The planned walk through the temperate rain forest fell in the water. The whole night it had rained and the morning was no better. We packed up and drove down the mountain and then inland to Warwick.
